Every week, our club is powered by people who give their time, energy, and passion so our players can thrive. Thank you to every volunteer across the club. Whether you coach, ref, run a touchline,help in the kitchen, look after clubhouse and grounds, or simply step in when needed — you make this club what it is.
We’re especially proud that some of our volunteers have been nominated for the RFU’s National Volunteer of the Year Award, recognising their efforts in 2025:
Lisa White (Chair of Age Grade Rugby) — Lisa has been a driving force behind the growth and smooth running of Swindon RFC’s age‑grade section, and has created a welcoming, safe and well‑organised environment that now engages around 200 children, supports coach development, and has significantly raised the profile of junior rugby at the club.
Rich Huntley (U13’s Coach) — Rich has helped to expand access to rugby by creating new age‑group opportunities—from founding the U13s and launching the club’s first Tiny Tacklers group to arranging fixtures, festivals, and support across multiple teams.
Richard White (U15’s Coach) — Rich has transformed junior rugby at Swindon RFC by dramatically expanding participation—from founding the club’s first girls team and running school and community programmes to growing the junior section to nearly 200 players and building strong pathways across all age groups. His inclusive coaching, community outreach, and creation of major events like the Battle at the Bridge Festival have strengthened player development, raised the club’s profile, and created a thriving, sustainable future for youth rugby.
Our Grounds Team — for turning up in all weathers, keeping our pitches match‑ready, and making sure rugby can happen every single week. The team, led by Joe Walsh, have transformed the club’s facilities by dedicating weekly volunteer time to maintaining pitches, repairing and improving infrastructure, and keeping the site clean, tidy, and welcoming for members and visitors.
The winners will be announced at an event at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham in September.
