After beginning pre season training and witnessed the start of the season with Swindon he said I see a lot of potential within the club with some very talented youngsters featuring in the first few games and if the players show more commitment to training and match availability I see the future being bright at the club.
We have been unlucky with injuries so far picking two broken hands & a broken ankle alongside several muscular issues.
Behind  the scenes  there is nucleus of ex players who are willing to help, it is great to have Adam Westall on board as a player coach as with his experience it’s great to have someone on the pitch to direct the players. Team manager Rags who works tirelessly to give the players a lot of support .
The club has two decent pitches and a well equipped gym and  a floodlight pitch for training.
We are looking to strengthen the squad with players who want to fulfil their potential and enjoy a successful season by training  hard and benefiting on Saturdays.
We would welcome any players that wish to further their rugby by joining the club and getting the benefit of a Good quality coaching in the Swindon area twice a week with regular games every Saturday currently fielding two teams to come along to Bridge Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.45 -8.30 pm.
1st Team Manager
Ian 'Ragsy' Reynolds

31 years at the club.

I joined the club at 15 as a full back after school mates talking me into joining and never looked back. I made my senior rugby debut at 16 for the 5th team against Marlborough 2nds in 1993 at tight head prop. The following season, I made my first team debut at backups and have played every season bar one for the first team.

During my 31 years playing, I have held 2nd team captain for 7 years and head coach for a season.

What I love about Swindon Rugby Club is the great socials the club has maintained and the welcoming environment. Now in the role of first team manager, I enjoy seeing new/younger players find their voices and develop as players and people.

Looking forward to a great season ahead.

1st Team Captain
Sam Danford

I came to the club when moving to the area in 2019 and felt accepted with my brother. I had never played a full season competitively and that was a future goal of mine.

I love that it is a family club, welcoming for all. All players are hard working and we show that in our performance. I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else.

2nd Team Captain
James 'Noddy' Newton

I started rugby when I was 12 years old at Swindon when a school friend asked me to come along and I immediately got hoked. I have been at Swindon my whole rugby career of 21 years and have not looked back – ‘The Bridge’ is my second home.

The club is so welcoming and acceptation, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, you’re welcome! Ive had some pretty serious injuries in the past and have always had support from the team/committee and that’s why I’ll always be involved with Swindon RFC.
